Tesla has successfully completed the construction of its inaugural Cybertruck, putting an end to a two-year delay. The company shared an image on Twitter, revealing workers wearing hard hats surrounding the sleek and futuristic-looking Cybertruck, which was assembled at Tesla’s Gigafactory near Austin, Texas.
The Cybertruck made its debut as a prototype back in 2019, with Tesla initially planning to commence production in late 2021. However, unforeseen issues arose when the truck’s windows unexpectedly broke during a demonstration, resulting in delays. Tesla CEO Elon Musk cited supply chain challenges as an additional factor contributing to the setback.
In 2021, Tesla confirmed that an updated version of the Cybertruck was in the works. They announced their intention to initiate production in 2023, with full-scale production projected for 2024. With the launch of the Cybertruck, Tesla aims to enter the competitive market for electric pickup trucks, where it will face formidable rivals such as Rivian’s R1T, the Ford F-150 Lightning, and the GMC Hummer EV pickup.
After the long-awaited completion of the first Cybertruck, Tesla is eager to showcase its unique design and cutting-edge features, demonstrating the company’s commitment to revolutionizing the electric vehicle market and shaping the future of transportation.
